Some Catholics follow a tradition of picking a patron saint for the year. Jennifer at Conversion Diary created a program that will generate a saints' name for you. I'd like to think, with a little prayer, that the choice will be guided by the Holy Spirit rather than random. The site includes links explaining who patron saints are, why they pray for us, and information about individual saints.
